Managing the unexpected – all in a day’s work

The lovely Melinda performed viola at this gorgeous P&D Flower Farm wedding. The bride adored Disney, so we dug far and wide to make sure prelude music was filled with many favorites. The only challenge for this amazing day? High winds that kept blowing the music away! Melinda & the staff found a creative solution to keep the music going.
 
There are plenty of things that happen smoothly for most weddings, but its inevitable that something surprising comes along. Kessler Strings arrives one hour before your wedding start time just for this kind of thing. Sometimes, it’s a change in music to review with the planner and officiant. Other times, its a set up situation like this. We just roll with it, think fast and ask for help when needed (no, Melinda does not carry twine with her to playing jobs  - P&D Flower Farm helped her out with this). The key is recognizing the challenge quickly, developing a plan and then, if needed asking for supplies or assistance.
 
We normally do not need tie a stand to a post to hold it hostage! But there are plenty of ways we come prepared to double check at the site

• Song list with the planner and officiant – check!
• Do we have a good visual of the wedding party entering – check!
• Run down of the playlist with other musicians – check!
• Doing a trial run of all entrance music and planning starts/stops as needed – check!
• Making sure we know of any unique ceremony twists – check!
• Stand lights to provide extra lighting – check!
• Extra masks – check!
• Time clock – check!
• Do we have a good system in place for start and ending of music cues? – check!
