What song will you get the party started to?

So, what is the Pachebel Canon or Can’t Help Falling in Love in recessional music? Unlike our review of processional music that the bride walks down the aisle to, recessional music is a little more… funky? Party time!!!!

As you can see, the trends are less clear than entrance music. On the classical site of things, we do have some tried and true in the works of Handel. For modern – Marry You is really a perfect tune – its got great lyrics and a perfect rhythm to send a couple back down the aisle and into cocktail hour.

And I might have a little something to do with “You are the Best Thing” appearing rather frequently. I LOVE LOVE Ray LaMontagne – at least his earlier albums and was OVERJOYED several years ago when  I got to see him live. He is an AMAZING artist and song writer.

So what are the hidden gems in the “Everything else” category? Here’s a few of my thoughts…

• Crazy Thing Called Love – by Queen. Everyone knows this song, its got this amazing walking bassline and I like to think about how Kessler Strings might channel Freddy Mercury (in all his genius). This one actually was #5 most popular, but I’m in charge of pie charts and I decided to go with 5 slices only.
• Home – Edward Sharp and the Magnetic Zeros. A couple requested this one a few years ago and I did a massive (but very happy) face plant. WHY HAVE I NOT THOUGHT OF THIS ONE BEFORE! PERFECT!
• A Bach cello suite – really Bach, anywhere, anytime, for everything.
• Wildest Dreams – by Taylor Swift. Any Brigerton fans out there???
• Spring by Vivaldi – If you’re looking for elegant and regal, try this one one.
