photo by sterling expressionSome events I just want to pinch myself with glee. At Laura and Alex’s wedding, the bride surprised her groom by picking out one of his favorites to walk down to – Concerning Hobbits from the Fellowship of the Rings. It was such a sweet and funny moment as they made their way to take their vows and he was indeed surprised and delighted (I confirmed this as I caught up with the couple after the ceremony). I love when couples bring ideas on how to make their experience really personal and meaningful to them.
Concerning Hobbits was a first time performance for Kessler Strings (in quartet form that day). A few other musical firsts from Laura and Alex’s wedding:
And an oldie but goodie request was All I Ask of You – from Phantom of the Opera. I loved listening to this musical/opera when I was kid and I’m so glad when people still want to hear it. It has such lovely lyrics that I sign along with when we play and it works beautifully in a string quartet. Also a big shout out to Evan at the Sanctuary on Penn… he makes sure a couple’s day goes flawlessly and makes it look so easy . What song has special meaning to you? And how might a music surprise and delight your loved one? Talk to Kessler Strings!
