I’m as passionate about delighting customers as I am about making music. My first professional gig was about 30 years ago, so, I’ve been doing this a while and one of the best things about being a musician is there are always new songs to learn, new people to work with and new audiences.
Q&A with Susie What is your favorite thing about Kessler Strings? Connecting with my clients to figure out what will make their event or wedding really special for them. I like matching what we can offer to their style or vision of the event and also seeing how we can give them more than what they ever expected. What is your favorite thing about your instrument, the viola? Oh.. so many things. I love that it is link between the high and low sounds and how a violist really has to listen to everything around them. In a symphony orchestra, we’re right in the thick of things seeing what to bring out to support the sounds going around us. It’s the best seat in the house! What did you walk down the aisle to? I had a composer friend write an arrangement of Simple Gifts from Appalachia Spring for viola quartet. What do you wish more people knew? That there are so many ways to use string music and there is no need to be intimidated! We at Kessler Strings love to play just about anything - learning new songs and exploring genres is really fun and challenging. We’re all classical trained, but over the past few years have really branched out in multiple styles – jazz, rock, country and Celtic to name a few. We’ll be doing some Persian music for an upcoming wedding. String music is so adaptable. What is your favorite Kessler Strings song to play? Starlight by Muse! It is such a rocking tune and I love how flexible it is. You can play it to start a party out right and it also works as a wedding recessional. Tell me about your favorite song, instrument and what love about live music. And lets talk about about your next event or your your wedding! Contact me today at [email protected]
